Happenings

Crazy around here as always.
Here are a few quotes to give you the flavour of what has been going on lately...
L has been talking more and more. Besides carrying around her purse and often wearing a necklace or hat around the house, she has learned the magic word.
Have you guessed it yet?
SHOES!
Yep, she says "shoes" all the time. She loves wearing her dress shoes around the house (or boots), reorganizing everyones shoes and even the classic stomping around in daddy's big shoes.
She has also taken to calling K "Booby" and I am not sure where that comes from, maybe sibling rivalry already? Oh, and at A's work party the other day I am pretty sure she said "I got da ball" when she picked up the boys ball. Crazy, but A and I have both been saying for the last 2 weeks that it sounds like she comes out with a sentence every once and a while. Tonight she went to bed asking over and over for Dada (who was at work) and then saying "Dada bye bye?" over and over. I felt so loved.
K is always a wild one... what has he been up to? Hmm. I have finally figured out some of his phrases this month. "Diana joes cription" is actually Indiana Jones Collection (as in LEGO) and he says that a lot. It was a mystery for quite a few weeks and my only option was to smile and nod, "mmhmm, yes sweetie" til finally it came to me. "docker Furdo" is also a term brought to you by Lego.com. It actually means Dr Inferno the bad guy in the secret agent game. I blame his pronunciation on that year when he couldn't hear (before he got the tubes in his ears). Ya that's it. It's definately not 'cause he's crazy. No, definitely not.
R has had some good ones this month. From "Mom, what hole did your babies come out?" to " I bet my Daddy could build an ark" he has been thinking deeply. He also discovered some very easy sudouko puzzles in one of his books. You guessed it he can do it. He is all logic that boy. Well, some silliness too. He is a 5 year old boy after all.
Did I mention he is figuring out who he will marry? First it was his friend's sister, then it was me. And K should marry Grammie. He has it all figured out alright.
Love my monkeys. Yes I do.

great visiting

These are also old pics from the beginning of October. I was working and A took the kids to see the great grandparents in Langley. They are great grandparents after all and they can't get out here as much as they once could so we are trying to make it out there more often. Grandad actually took the kids and their costumes out there right before Halloween too. But I can't find those pictures right now so we won't talk about that, kay? They spent some time at their apartment and some time at a local park.
K was the photographer and he got some interesting expressions out of people. And many shots of the floor that I had to delete.

Catching up

Call it a summary of September. VERY late pics of first day of school and the last trip to play in the river before the weather got bad. K started preschool and R started Kindergarten. And I started to catch my breath a bit with a few hours a week of relative peace. I do miss that sunshine though.

Whistler Vacation continued

When I posted the pics last time from our summer trip to Whistler I only made it as far as the car ride up, then blogger decided not to upload any more pics. Now it is so ridiculously late that I doubt there is any point to posting these.
Except that they are cute.
And I am a chronological kinda girl trying to keep up.
So here goes...
We stayed in for popcorn and a movie
We went shopping but didn't buy anything

swimming and playing at the beach
all the little monkeys shared a room

Vacation!

Well... I know I am late with all this, but such is life.
In August we went to Whistler for a little family trip. A and I both worked a lot over the summer, him full time plus OT and me 36 hours a week. With only 8 hours of daycare a week that keeps our little family hoping. Add some progress on the basement and we had zero free time. So, this was our one and only get away for the summer. It turned out pretty relaxing and fun. Lots of swimming and walking and hanging around. Just fun.

Stuffed in the car....

in our defence it is classified as a "small car". You try to stuff clothes, swim suits, towels, food, a playpen and stroller and 5 people in a "small car" and see how much room you have!

Expressions

I had so much fun with that other post comparing the kiddies that I decided to try again. Also spurred on by a comment my m-i-l made that R's pictures from our cruise when he was 11 months old look a lot like L today.
So here you go...

baby L is growing up

This one is going to be a Chatty Cathy. She says hi, bye, up, hot, dada and now... bum. She signs more, all done, please, bye bye. She nods and shakes her head. A lot. She knows how to use an expression and 'ahhhhh' to make herself understood.
Oh, and she thinks she can read. I am trying (like for the last week) to upload a video of that but apparently I don't know how to!
In the mean time, she said "Hi Mama" to me on Sunday when I came home from work.
You melt my heart baby girl.

Sometimes she felt like she lived at the zoo

I have been trying to upload these pics for a while.
Why doesn't blogger like me?
Anyways. This is the highlight reel from our trip to the Zoo for the end of the year party for preschool/daycare. Kiddies had fun, rain held off 'til we left, R mastered the map, and my Mom and her friend came to help and see the kids enjoy themselves. Isn't the pic of K with a guitar kinda scary? Although I see him as more of a drummer than a lead guitarist, only time will tell.
By the way the title is from the book I'll love you forever.
